so disappointing.....

a high-end department store is having further discounts sale so went to have a look for the first time..... all prices below r DISCOUNTED prices.....

dunno wat label ladies shirt - NZD 100

100% cotton bath robe - NZD 125

dunno wat label dress - $300+??!! (NZD 400+ b4 discount!!)

sadly, the important shoe 'department' is only wat shown here + 2 shelves

usually shoes dat i like cost more than NZD 100 after discount, which i think will only cost $30 to $70 in SG.

NZ really need a realty check on retail in order to bounce back from recession!

Stink Bug!

usually i doze off on the morning bus n lean against the side of the bus. Thank goodness i stayed awake n upright one morning cuz a green bug appeared out of no where, right next to my head! The size is abt an adult thumb nail n i quickly moved away. An asian passenger behind me wanna squash it but a likely-kiwi passenger stopped her cuz it will stink if squashed! eeww...... so nobody dare to do anything to it till it landed on another passenger's shoulder n got out of the bus with the passenger......

internet article says stink bugs leave strong odors which linger for 6 months....... i'm so glad my head din stink for 6 mths!!

100 years & still going strong

dun think got such long history contractor in SG.....

Fletcher Construction was founded by a Scottish in NZ 100 years ago n their projects/products r almost everywhere as described in their website:-

If you live in one of NZ's main cities, you can be born in a hospital built by Fletcher, grow up in a house made of Fletcher products and maybe built by Fletcher, go to a school and a university built by Fletcher, work in an office or factory built by Fletcher, shop in a shopping centre developed, designed and built by Fletcher, catch the game at a stadium built by Fletcher, be entertained at a cinema or theatre built by Fletcher, holiday at a resort built by Fletcher, and enjoy the sunset from a retirement home built by Fletcher.

Walk the CBD in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch or Dunedin. If you can walk more than a kilometre without seeing a building built by Fletcher or using Fletcher building products, you're probably in Australia. But even in Sydney, Brisbane or Melbourne, you'll find us pretty much everywhere.

wat the sound??!

shortly after my bath, a loud sound suddenly rang in my apartment unit n i thought 'i bought a new alarm clock meh??' then i figure the white white thing on the ceiling is actually fire alarm! having too many fire drills in SG, i hanged around n looked around for a while before heading downstairs. 5 fire engines had arrived before I reached the ground........ ok, i figure where my tax $$ going to......

it was the unit above and opposite mine dat caught fire, not v big cuz not all 5 fire engines mobilised...... the firewater flowed to the opposite unit (above me) and to the unit downstairs (opposite me). The residents of these units got some cleanup to do!! A fireman came into my unit to check for any leakage....... thank goodness no so far!!

the unit with the most jui is 1307........ any takers?? gimme a share if u win!!

i still looking at my ceiling, hope i wake up dry tmw morning.....

legs up!

wished there was photo for tis........

a senior management colleague forgo his leave tdy to chair a meeting in office. he was in T-shirt, jeans & sandals which r ok since he only got last min notice...... only total 3 of us in meeting.

think he got too comfortable half-way n put his bare feet up on table edge while sitting n presenting at same time!! wif occasional f-words though he was not angry or agitated.

most construction workers i c in SG r not even dat crude!

ultimate boredom??

view from my work space again...... was so amazed how a dump truck driver single-handedly empty the waste bin contents into his truck without stepping out of the truck.......

one day, i tell u, one day I'll capture a photo of dat blue-feathered red-beak bird dat was walking around since last year!

ya, have been bored at work....... can only clock 16 hrs of actual work in tis week's timesheet, gotta creatively distribute the remaining 24 hrs to form a complete work week of 40 hrs...... tis maths can b more difficult than designing a structure!

my pay has a 30% tax deduction n it's not 'refundable' like CPF

I guess that's how kiddies here get free stuff!

road manners

rarely can hear car honking here even during peak hours cuz drivers here r generally more patient...... even if the car in front of them is being washed by those street cleaners.......

tdy saw an ambulance trying to get into the city during morning peak hours, the city-bound traffic was not moving so it diverted to the adjacent opposite-direction road instead (there is no median divider on NZ roads)....... cars traveling in opposite direction automatically give way without hassle...... amazing!
