wat logic??

NZ custom has been v strict in prohibiting raw foods, soils, live plants coming into the country...... anyone who fails to declare them gets fined at abt NZD200.

Now swine flu has likely arrived in NZ...... who's going to pay this fine??!

I more scared of SG gahmen than swine flu...... if matters get worse, I beta fly back earlier, rather than be required to be quarantined later!

direction sense

usually I roam around unfamiliar places after one glance of the map....... may get lost, realised it quickly n found my way back without looking at the map.......

when I was 6+ years old in my 1st school bus trip home, I din understand y the bus still had not reach my home n so many kids got off already....... it especially did not make sense when I was not the first few kids the bus picked up when going to school. So when i saw a familiar place, I immediately got off n walked abt 15 mins home...... when the bus would have let me off a few stops later...... well, got lots worried abt a missing kid but was so proud of myself finding my way back!!

so the directional instincts r all in-built!

since i m not eligible to apply for NZ credit card (cuz i not citizen, PR or have student visa?!), got a visa debit card instead...... finally can make online purchases with NZ$!

Arty!

Was at Welly mainly to c some french paintings at Te Papa Museum...... so Arty!! Some paintings r so nice, feel like smuggling them out! will look good in the living room!!

some play things at the rooftop...... any SG museum won't allow such safety hazard!

Somehow I can access blogs from office now!! Stupid office firewall blocks almost every social websites......

Great! More time n space for me to grumble!!

Obviously not doing work now, the scrapes of work so far r only a tickle…….

Realised I won’t get retrenched so easily, it’s only for pple idling for 6 mths or more……. ok, office can afford to feed parasites……

coastal scenes

Welly is surrounded by various coastlines, some of which rose up 6m during a strong 1855 earthquake........

dunno when but penguins will come upshore n cross the coastal road....... some residents actually leave their garage doors open so these travelers would have some shelter........

several Interislander ferries departs Welly daily n head to South Island Picton....... take the Bluebridge ferries instead, they r cheaper for the same route.

Private Cable Cars

learnt from a video dat Welly has 400+ private cable cars...... so easier for residents to access their houses on hill slopes....... each cost abt $50k or more, small case for these residents who can afford the hillside houses with nice sceneries!!

some city sights

a guide says if there's earthquake, the 2 safest place to hide are the parliment houses or Te Papa Museum...... it's prefered to face the museum exhibits than politicians!

was at the capital over the Easter weekend...... it sits over 11 fault lines n a recent rumble was 4+ on ritcher scale...... juz a tickle to the residents!

received a call to my office line with a familiar accent..... i immediately asked if she's from SG or NZ.... Bingo! she's from SG n from a recruitment company, asking if i interested in a Aust O&G job.....

apparently one of my colleagues been distributing our numbers n designations to tis SG firm..... or was it a test from my company??!

ha, the caller said i sound like SGean, sama sama.

recently it's 10 to 10+ degrees n feeling the chills already...... gotta defrost myself every morning after a 45mins journey to office, n feet need to b doubly wrapped up!
